About the Role

Serve as the overall project lead for specific OEM programs or tasks from the mechanical function, acting as the key functional interface to the customer. Drive business wins and project execution, ensuring delivery within timing, cost, and quality targets. Lead the technical project team, manage local and global ME teams, and develop state-of-the-art technology and solutions. Follow VDA/IATF automotive electronic development processes and Harman internal standards, while contributing to process and design guideline improvements.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary technical contact and key functional interface to the OEM customer, representing Harman in customer meetings and ensuring alignment on requirements and milestones.

  • Lead overall project execution for assigned programs, driving quality (in-time, in-function, in-budget) delivery from Mechanics.

  • Control ME-project team, develop tasks and contents for time schedule, quality, and strategy conformity.

  • Drive ME activities across concept, design, validation, and industrialization phases.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, testing, HW teams, and PMs.

  • Realize and work out mechanical content from RFI and RFQ phases.

  • Implement project through the whole product life cycle.

  • Ensure adherence to VDA/IATF standards and Harman’s development processes.

  • Contribute to process improvement and design standard/guideline creation.

  • Allocate resources, mentor engineers, and foster a high-performance culture.

  • Develop new innovative ME systems according to approved project/development task requirements.

  • Promote creative ideas and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Drive design-to-cost activities, design for sustainability and design for assembly/Manufacturing

  • Ensure robust validation plans and compliance with OEM requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable education.

  • 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Development, Mechanical Project Lead, or Mechanical Team Lead.

  • Strong knowledge of VDA/IATF processes, DFMEA, and automotive SPICE.

  • Proven ability to manage global teams and complex projects

  • Strong project lead skills and experience; able to drive complex projects independently as function lead.

  • Expertise in mechanical development of automotive electronic products.

  • Solid understanding of plastics, sheet metal, die-cast parts, tooling, and related processes

  • Excellent communication, presentation and customer-facing skills

  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with thermal management, GD&T, and material technologies.

  • Experience with PLM tools (Teamcenter) and CAD systems (NX, CATIA, Creo). 

  • Exposure to ADAS, infotainment, and electronic module packaging.

  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
