How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop conceptual designs and create system level architecture. 
  • Establish project plans including coordination of technical resources and design directions. 
  • Complete layout of machine through detail of all components. 
  • Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
  • Assist with the successful management of assigned projects as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction. 
  • Manage several on-going projects concurrently.
  • Assist in developing the Mechanical Engineering department through leadership, experience, encouragement and mentorship.  
  • Possesses above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiate and maintain extensive contact with key engineers, external departments, and customers.
  • Lead teams and influence project direction and progress. 
  • Serve as a technical expert in the department and may mentor/train other mechanical engineers.
  • Travel required up to 20% including overnight and international to customer sites & other JR locations.

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study
  • Professional Engineer OR other technical Certifications preferred 
  • 6+ years of related experience 
  • Experienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) 
  • Knowledgeable of automation products, services, and the industry
  • Capable of creating machine designs with complex assemblies and subassemblies.  
  • Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Preferred industry experience: Process and/or Medical
