The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician III to join our team in the Electro-Optics Technology Division at NSWC Crane.
Responsibilities:
Prepare manufacturing procedures and/or processes.
• Design with computer graphics two-dimensional (2-D) and 3-dimensional (3-D) lab and testing equipment and components consisting mainly of, but not limited to, electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical items;
• Equipment and facility requirement studies and planning.
• Production cost estimating.
• Assist with product "make or buy" analyses.
• Production capability assessment studies and surveys.
• Development of CAD or CAM products.
• Review, change and/or alter existing drawings to account for design changes or modifications or to confirm with CM or build practices, with drafting/software applications including multi-view rotation capabilities and update functions to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for manual re-drawing and updating of parts lists, part numbers, etc.
Maintenance of existing EOIR equipment and systems.
• Find replacement parts or solutions to obsolete parts, diagnose field failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
• Work with a logisticians and configuration management system.
Design below deck support equipment for Situational Awareness Systems (SAwS).
• Develop and Review design documentation such as System Requirement Documents (SRDs), Performance (P-Spec), Design Specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Work with a multidisciplinary engineering team to implement designs.
Develop ship installation drawings, and technical manuals.
• Develop and Review Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs).
• Develop and Review Technical Manuals (TM) and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs).
• Work with On Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) to support installations.
Develop and execution of Test Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs)
• Develop and Review Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTRM), Test Procedures, Test Plans, Requests for Variance (RFV), and deviation requests, if needed.
• Interact with Naval Sea Systems Command's Naval Systems Engineering Directorate (NAVSEA05) technical warrant holder (TWH) community to verify that designs meet requirements or has the appropriate waivers.
Support and design of test equipment for Lowest Replaceable Units (LRU).
• Develop and Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Maintenance and Lab Tasks, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
• Work with branch Quality Focal Point (QFP) to verify base policies are being followed.
Maintain system certifications.
• Prepare Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for Element Certifications, Combat Certifications, and Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Prepare Presentations for Review Boards, and present.
• Interact with Program Executive Offices Integrated Warfare Systems 2 (PEO-IWS2) to insure documentation OQE is submitted properly.

Pay Range:
This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
Minimum Required Hourly Wage:
$24.30
