Responsibilities
Functional Team Leadership
Lead teams to ensure seamless collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain disciplines. Drive accountability, resolve conflicts, and ensure the team meets technical, cost, and schedule objectives for program success.
Execution Monitoring and Control
Responsibilities include managing control accounts using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, monitoring and controlling project work against the plan, supporting project-level issue resolution, and performing functional area replanning as needed. Additionally, these responsibilities involve managing project stakeholder engagement and preparing and delivering project status reports for Mechanical Engineering tasks.
Technical Execution Oversight
Responsible for overseeing system requirements definition and analysis, ensuring design definition aligns with architecture, and supervising integration, verification, and validation activities.
Risk, Configuration, and Data Management
Identify and analyzing project risks and opportunities, executing risk treatment and mitigation actions, managing and controlling configuration baselines, and collecting, storing, and analyzing project measurement data.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with other engineering disciplines, program management, and external suppliers to align technical objectives and ensure product integrity throughout the lifecycle. Build strong working relationships to achieve shared goals and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Mentorship and Development of Early Career Mechanical Engineers
Provide technical guidance, career development support, and constructive feedback to junior engineers. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members can grow their skills and contribute to project success.
Process Development and Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve engineering processes, and enhance team efficiency. Consult on and implement best practices, tools, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and maintain a culture of operational excellence.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Advanced understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Ability to obtain and maintain United States Top Secret Security Clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Understanding of applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications
2 years of previous team lead experience
Experience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers on issues related to mechanical engineering
Experience with manufacturing, production, and product support to include disposition of engineering non-conformances
Familiarity with FAA , NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations
Essential Functions:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
Occasional travel may be required.
Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs
Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management
Ability to understand technical documents, designs and test reports.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $98,633.53 - $135,621.11. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
