We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented engineer to support generator design, product development, and testing activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering principles. 

This role involves reviewing drawings, responding to supply and assembly questions, and creating comprehensive engineering documentation, including hardware specifications, test plans, analytical reports, and test reports. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, aligning efforts with budget and schedule targets, and communicating effectively with management, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do 

  • Support generator design, drawing review, supply questions, and assembly. 

  • Support existing product development testing. 

  • Create engineering documentation, such as hardware specifications, test plans, analytical reports, and test reports. 

  • Support and align efforts to meet plans related to budgets and schedules. 

  • Effectively communicate with management, suppliers, customers, and members of the technical design team. 

  • Participate in design discussions and customer presentations. 

  • Conduct engineering investigations to establish root cause, verify findings, and implement corrective actions. 

  • Adhere to and develop engineering standard work. 

  • Respond to supplier or plant site issues, analyzing and correcting operational and field problems. 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field 

 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Hands-on experience as part of an engineering team, contributing to the design, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical components. 

  • Strong background in structural and thermal analysis, with proficiency in 3D design software. 

  • Skilled in Excel, including VBA, Solver, and other advanced functions. 

  • Experience working with rotating hardware technologies, such as pumps, gears, transmissions, and generators. 

  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
