Job Summary: You will serve as a mechanical engineer in the ENGINEERING BRANCH of the UNDERSEA & COMBAT SYSTEMS DEPOT DIVISION of the UNDERSEA WEAPONS DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

Major Duties:

  • You will coordinate efforts to resolve complex in-service engineering challenges, with a focus on mitigating obsolescence to maintain fleet preparedness.
  • You will ensure the sustained operational readiness of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems.
  • You will resolve novel and obscure in-service engineering problems.
  • You will provide direct, hands-on engineering support to the production floor to resolve emergent issues and ensure workflow continues without delay.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing oversight of the sustainment and repair of complex systems, utilizing advanced troubleshooting, computer-aided design, and/or obsolescence management principles.
