Americas Region Supplier Quality Specialist II

Huntsman is seeking an Americas Region Supplier Quality Specialist II supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Regional Quality Manager.

Job Scope

Maintain and continuously improve the Regional Quality Management System (QMS) to meet supplier certification requirements, evolving business needs, and divisional alignment. This role is responsible for supplier quality management, audit governance, supplier qualification, continuous improvement initiatives, and regional coordination across Americas manufacturing sites.

In summary, as the Americas Region Supplier Quality Specialist II, you will:

• Maintain and continuously improve the Regional Quality Management System (QMS) to meet supplier certification requirements, evolving business needs, and divisional alignment.
• Build effective partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders to enable consistent supplier quality and audit governance.
• Manage supplier audit activities, including risk-based audit planning, annual supplier evaluations, and audit schedule maintenance.
• Monitor and report regional supplier quality performance, including KPIs, improvement actions, and supplier-initiated changes.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within supplier quality processes and systems based on performance data, audits, visits, and feedback.
• Coordinate and maintain oversight of the Americas internal audit program, including audit planning, alignment with applicable standards, and tracking of findings and corrective actions.
• Support and facilitate investigations related to supplier and subcontractor quality issues.
• Qualify and approve new suppliers in accordance with defined requirements.
• Administer the QT9 Supplier Module.
• Act as the regional point of coordination for supplier quality and audit governance across Americas manufacturing sites.
• Develop and deploy standardized, risk-based frameworks and tools to strengthen supplier quality management and audit effectiveness.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

Education required

  • Graduate in a technical, engineering, chemistry, or business discipline.
  • 5+ years of working experience in a supplier quality role and/or quality assurance.

Skills and knowledge

  • Proven experience in driving continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to embark people on a new journey.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Good analytical, synthesis, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Instinctive improvement and creative mindset.
  • Drive for continuous, unrelenting improvement using statistical tools.
  • Passion for success.
  • Ability to travel (10–30%).
  • Strong self-direction and prioritization in a governance and coordination capacity.
  • Ability to influence, align, and standardize processes without direct authority.
  • Flexibility to balance planned audit activities with emerging supplier or quality issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally Six Sigma / LEAN trained.
  • Experience in leading transformational change within a multidisciplinary environment is a plus.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 (AS 9100 and IATF 16949 preferred), as well as associated documents.

Working Environment

  • Regional role operating in a matrixed organization across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Travel required to support supplier audits, site engagement, and alignment activities.
