Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for performing mechanical work to repair, maintain, and rebuild gasoline and alternative fueled automotive equipment.
Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High school diploma or GED, and a minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in the repair of gasoline and alternatively fueled automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Additional Training and Experience: Completion of Safety Training post hire.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license; North Carolina Inspection License; May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technicians as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily heavy work requiring exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
