M&E / Facilities Technician (with Audio-Visual Support)

Key Responsibilities

1. Facilities Technician Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspection of building and M&E systems to ensure proper operation.

  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repair works on building services and equipment.

  • Attend to breakdowns, fault reports, and service requests in a timely manner.

  • Monitor and check ACMV, electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems.

  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to maintenance plans.

  • Assist and coordinate contractors and service vendors during site works and servicing activities.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work requirements.

  • Update maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders in the maintenance system.

  • Support emergency response, fault rectification, and system recovery when required.

2. Audio-Visual Technician Responsibilities

  • Maintain the daily operation of office audio-visual (AV) systems.

  • Support meeting rooms, video conferencing systems, projectors, and display equipment.

  • Attend to AV faults, service calls, and user assistance requests.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting, setup, and configuration of AV equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance of AV systems.

  • Provide technical support during meetings, events, and presentations when required.

  • Coordinate with AV vendors and contractors for repairs, servicing, and system upgrades.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory control of AV equipment.

  • Follow site safety procedures and operational protocols during AV works.

  • Maintain and update AV fault logs, service reports, and maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • NITEC / Higher NITEC / or equivalent in:

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Building Services / Facilities Management

    • Audio-Visual / IT related disciplines

Experience

  • Preferably >3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or AV system support.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of ACMV, electrical systems, and building maintenance

  • Familiarity with meeting room AV systems and video conferencing equipment

  • Basic troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills

  • Good communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • Office or commercial building environment.

  • May be required to support after-hours meetings or events.

  • Respond to urgent faults or operational issues when required.
