Job Description Summary
The Material Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of raw materials, components, and packaging required to support production operations at PET CMO manufacturing sites. This role focuses on day to day planning, scheduling, and inventory coordination to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing supply risks and operational disruptions. The Material Supply Planner works closely with Procurement, Production, Quality, Warehousing, and external suppliers to support compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations, and internal quality standards. This position plays an essential role in supporting production goals through accurate material planning and proactive supply chain management.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Materials Planning & Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) to ensure availability of raw materials, packaging, and components to meet the production schedule.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and lead times, adjusting plans proactively to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Review and analyze ERP system data (e.g., SAP, Maestro) to ensure accurate planning parameters and material master data.
- Coordinate replenishment activities and initiate purchase/transfer requisitions based on demand forecasts and production needs.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Integrated Supply Chain to resolve supply delays, expedite orders, and identify/manage constraints.
- Work with Quality Assurance and Quality Control to ensure materials meet release and regulatory requirements prior to use.
- Coordinate with Warehousing to manage incoming materials, storage capacity, and timely material staging.
- Partner with Contract Manufacturers to align material availability with the production and inventory plans.
- Develop and support cross-functional data requirements, metrics, and KPI’s related to both material availability and CMO production performance.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all materials are planned and managed in accordance with cGMP, FDA regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Support investigations, deviations, or CAPAs related to materials, inventory issues, or supply interruptions.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in material flow and planning processes and recommend improvements.
- Support initiatives involving automation, ERP enhancements, and lean practices to increase planning accuracy and reduce waste.
- Develop, track and report on supply‑related KPIs (e.g., material availability, inventory accuracy, internal/external capacity, and supply performance).
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in materials planning, supply planning, inventory management, or related supply chain roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical materials such as APIs, excipients, and packaging components (preferred).
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and controlled‑environment regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP and data analytics systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis Maestro, PowerBI, SQL, etc) and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict timelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in planning, documentation, and data management.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing or pharmacy locations.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement initiatives.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $86,400.00-$129,600.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
