Material Handler I (2nd Shift)

SUMMARY:

Responsible for effectively procuring components from the Warehouse for specific orders that will run on the Production floor.  These procured components will then need to be verified and loaded into the appropriate rooms by the Material Handler position.  Proper written Batch Record entries (i.e. Lot numbers, quantities) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) QAD transactions are also required.  At each order’s completion, the Material Handler position is required to assist in the line clearances and perform the proper written and electronic transactions reflecting said clearances.  The Material Handler position is also required to maintain orderliness and accuracy of all inventory staging areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The following is a list of minimum responsibilities related to the Material Handler position. Other duties may also be assigned.

Checks supplies and stocks production lines with products and packaging materials as required at the beginning of and throughout each shift to allow production lines to run. 

Reviews work orders to determine necessary material required for work orders, accounting for space constraints, allocations while adhering to first-in first-out inventory methodology. 

Requests the delivery of the materials needed and products for production via QAD warehouse management system.

Removes finished products from production lines, transports them to appropriate location in warehouse for storage and/or shipment, receives finished goods into QAD, labels finished goods, and finishes packaging of material for transport. 

Palletizes and secures materials according to specifications.  Ensure products are of visibly good quality and free of any apparent defects or damage.  Coordinates with Quality or Packaging when defects and/or damage are evident.

Verifies and reconciles use of materials and production of finished goods in QAD system.  Maintains accurate inventory and logs of materials and products on hand.

Generates and applies labels to components and finish product pallets when complete.

Performs accurate and timely computer transactions in QAD via computer terminal or RF equipment.

Verifies all components and products are palletized, shrink wrapped or banded for transport by either manual or electric pallet jacks. 

Reads work order or follows oral instructions to assure materials and components are removed from production lines and staged for the next run after room sanitation is completed.

Opens, sorts, moves, stacks, and/or bundles components as needed or assigned.

Performs cycle counts on floor stock to maintain accurate inventory levels for production use.

Complete all necessary training prior to completing shipping or receiving tasks assigned in Veeva Quality One Management System.

Ensure warehouses and workstations are kept clean, neat, and orderly, at all times.

Provide suggestions and improvements for work-related processes and procedures.

Completes PIT Training and Certification prior to operating any equipment if assigned.

Required to work in cold rooms temperatures of (2-8©) as necessary.

Verifies daily no corrections are required to batch records.

Properly assist and support coworkers when needed.

Willingness to follow company safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required or related experience preferred. Detail oriented.  Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.  Previous experience in a warehousing position and/or cGMP compliant facility.  Inventory Control or Quality Control experience is also beneficial.
