Summary:  This position will be responsible for managing the efficient and accurate flow of materials, parts, and equipment that support the needs of our commercial and government for advanced manufacturing.

The Material Flow Coordinator will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that materials are received, stored, and distributed in a timely and efficient manner to meet project and operational requirements. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Processing and coordination of customer(s) orders & deliveries.
  • Coordination of material movement between HTS warehouse & manufacturing site.
  • Oversee material flow to/from 3rd party vendors.
  • Oversee the receipt, tracking, and distribution of materials, parts, and components, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to meet project demands. 
  • Work with scheduling & planning teams to ensure efficient flow of material throughout the supply / value chain.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure that necessary materials are available to meet technical and operational needs.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and production teams to anticipate material requirements and adjust the flow of materials as needed to meet deadlines and specifications.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to ensure the on-time delivery of materials and components, adhering to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow processes, minimize delays, and ensure efficient access to materials across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team around inventory min / max tracking and lean material flow.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, deliveries, and stock levels using inventory management systems and databases.
  • Follow safety protocols for handling, storing, and disposing of materials, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify and address any issues in material flow, including delays, shortages, or disruptions, and collaborate with other teams to resolve them promptly.
  • Serve as a backup for other positions within the department as needed during employee absences, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others (suppliers/departments/teams).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and implementing structure in otherwise flexible/fluid operations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Ability to persist and succeed with cross-functional communication within scope of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of material department operation, manufacturing processes, and departmental relationships.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and related software.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and defense-related industries is a plus but not required

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years of experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain / logistics environment preferred.   

This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
