Material Coordinator

Job Description

The Material Coordinator ensures the accurate receipt of all incoming materials, proper labeling, and storage in designated locations. Delivers raw materials and purchased items to production areas as needed, and transports job materials along with job travelers to the appropriate work centers. Prepares outgoing shipments and associated documentation for parts orders to customers.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Pull parts from inventory, issue them to work orders, and deliver to the appropriate work centers

  • Retrieve parts for sales orders and stage them for shipping

  • Move work-in-process (WIP) materials between work centers upon completion of each operation

  • Maintain clean and organized work area

  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.


Qualifications

  • High School/GED required

  • Up to 1 Year of related experience required

  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems preferred

  • Prior RF Scanner experience preferred

  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis

  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications

  • Class A; DOT certification for Hazardous Material Handling and shipping (as assigned) preferred

  • Certified Forklift Operator preferred

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Physical Demands
This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, walk up stairs and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
