Reporting directly to the Relay Director, Plant, you as a Master Data Analyst will be responsible for ensuring accurate and reliable SAP master data, including BOM, Routing, and Inventory records, while applying strong analytical skills to detect, correct, and prevent errors. You will support costing processes, troubleshoot cost variances, and ensure data integrity across manufacturing and engineering functions. You will also leverage problem-solving capabilities to validate engineering changes and maintain robust data accuracy to support operational excellence.
You will participate in validating and loading SAP master data, critically evaluating engineering change requests, conducting inventory analysis, supporting cost accounting activities, and providing data-driven recommendations. In addition, you will clarify technical requirements, ensure consistency across multi-level BOM structures, and support continuous improvement through metrics tracking and analysis.
Enter and maintain accurate master data in SAP, including validating and loading BOM, Routing, Inventory, and related materials. Assist in generating and validating cost estimates while ensuring data sufficiency for downstream users.
Critically evaluate, validate, and challenge engineering changes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of submitted materials, track ECO status, and prevent issues in related assemblies. Review datasheets and drawings for compliance with proper change-control practices.
Establish, review, and validate routing rates for new assemblies, ensuring alignment with current manufacturing guidelines and labor standards.
Engage in inventory analysis, troubleshoot BOM-related discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions for inventory issues.
Ensure that component, BOM, and labor data is correct according to manufacturing and engineering needs. Re-evaluate and correct loaded data as necessary to maintain accuracy. Investigate issues related to multi-level BOMs.
Support cost accounting activities by providing cost per hour reporting, cost-reduction tracking, excess and obsolete component analysis, and troubleshooting work order cost variances.
Provide data analysis and metrics tracking support as required.
Location: Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
Minimum 2-year degree required; 4-year degree in mathematics, accounting, finance, engineering, or a related analytical field preferred.
Indispensable: Experience and strong knowledge of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly).
Ability to read and understand technical and electronics terminology.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse skill levels.
Highly analytical, organized, and detail-oriented. Ability to gather, track, and validate information with exceptional accuracy.
Understands when to ask questions before acting and demonstrates curiosity in identifying root causes.
Absolute proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions and macros) and Word. Ability to learn and utilize SAP and become an expert in systems tied to the role.
Able and willing to justify conclusions with data-driven evidence and challenge inconsistencies.
Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
Extreme attention to detail, especially when evaluating master data changes to avoid unintended consequences.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving multi-level BOMs and cost accounting.
Willing to perform detailed data entry and maintenance. Knowledge of SQL or database/reporting tools is a plus.
