Axis Communications continues to expand its marketing team in Oceania, as we look for a phenomenal & highly motivated marketer to join our team.

The Marketing Specialist – Events role leads the brand experience for Oceania, where focus includes events,  and PR.

This challenging role calls for a broad range of capabilities as you will independently manage events from start to end. While you will need to delegate some details to vendors, you will need to ensure that every detail is executed completely, accurately, on time and within budget.

You will need a dynamic personality and a proven ability to co-ordinate among multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including managing expectations, providing solutions and balancing a collaborative approach with the right measure of assertiveness and diplomacy. In particular, you will lead and project-manage events across the region, ranging from corporate events, industry shows, regional webinars, conferences, and oversee the Axis Experience Centre (AEC)(?) in Oceania, to generate the desired results assign to the sales & marketing objectives.

The Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager, Oceania and may assist with regional projects and tasks from time to time.


This position requires 20% travel within Oceania and internationally to attend meetings, events, and training sessions.

This role is based in Melbourne, Australia.

What you’ll do here

In addition to the execution of the strategy for the identified countries, you will manage -

EVENTS (ONLINE & OFFLINE)

  • Strategize, design and manage all corporate flagship events, delivering both online and offline experiences
  • Ensure that the Axis brand experience and solution messaging is represented at key industry events and at Axis’ own organic events such as customer conferences.
  • Planning the annual calendar of internal, internal, channel and partner events
  • Provide event planning oversight and project management by taking a lead role in the planning and execution of events. This position also supports the implementation of best practices and the adoption of high standards of excellence for our events.
  • Manage events from end to end including post-event leads conversion.
  • Oversee the marketing program of our Axis Experience Centre (AEC) across Oceania. AEC is our in-house exhibition-booth like experience built into our office spaces

PUBLIC RELATIONS (PR)

  • Manage our regional brand communications and PR program, working with appointed agencies.
  • With the PR agency, drive programs that boost our brand profile in key markets
  • Understand our priority segments and identify content and messaging to convert into PR campaigns.
  • Set benchmark and KPIs for agencies to meet and work with regional marketing leaders on providing guidance to PR agencies.
  • Measure the impact of our PR program to our brand impression and business results.
  • Ensure that Axis is featured in key editorial publications relevant to our partner base, end-customer segments, and general business landscape e.g. media releases, press interviews, press conferences to byline articles
  • Drive customer references and case studies
  • Manage speaking opportunities at industry events and Axis country events
  • Ensure Axis is included in relevant industry awards programs.
  • Measure the impact of our PR program on our brand impression and business results

Who are we looking for/Who are you?

  • Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple priorities in different marketing sub-fields
  • Effective project leader – able to influence and drive other team members
  • Flexible team player, open to changes and able and willing to communicate and build rapport with other members in the team to achieve results
  • Confident & enthusiastic individual who is able to exercise initiative and thrive in an open, transparent work culture with minimal supervision
  • Open-minded and willing to learn
  • Understanding of common technology subjects is highly preferred

We'd love to hear that you have/are:

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in an events management role, 5 years of experience in PR and or managing PR agencies
  • Experience with event management platforms or virtual events platforms is an advantage
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms and marketing software & tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, etc.)
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret data and make insights-driven decisions.
  • A team player with strong collaboration and communications skills.
