The Marketing Operations & Finance Lead for Citi Wealth Marketing holds a mission-critical and highly strategic role, empowering the Citi Wealth Marketing function to achieve scalable growth, maintain stringent financial discipline, uphold robust governance, and execute with absolute clarity. This leader is the architect of operational excellence, ensuring that all foundational elements – from strategic budget allocation, comprehensive headcount planning, and optimized vendor management to rigorous risk controls – are managed with precision and foresight.

As the marketing organization evolves in complexity and ambition, this role serves as the strategic operational partner to the Head of Business Execution for Citi Wealth Marketing. It champions transparency in resource deployment and budget allocation, orchestrates the continuous improvement of internal processes, and ensures unwavering alignment with Citi-wide governance frameworks. This position acts as the vital connective tissue, deeply embedded with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Finance, ensuring marketing initiatives move efficiently, compliantly, and in lockstep with the broader enterprise's strategic imperatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Stewardship: Strategically lead and optimize comprehensive financial planning, budget management, and headcount oversight for the global marketing function, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to strategic priorities.
  • Enterprise Liaison & Influence: Serve as the central and influential liaison to key partners across Finance, Business Management, and Procurement, championing marketing's needs and aligning operational strategies.
  • Vendor Lifecycle Optimization: Drive and oversee the end-to-end vendor engagement lifecycle, encompassing strategic onboarding, contract negotiation, performance management, and meticulous invoice tracking to ensure maximum value and compliance.
  • Operational Governance & Compliance: Champion and enforce operational governance across the marketing organization, developing and implementing robust reporting mechanisms, essential documentation, and stringent compliance protocols.
  • Resource Management & Allocation: Proactively track, manage, and optimize marketing resources, allocations, and critical funding approvals in close partnership with regional leads and business heads, aligning expenditure with strategic impact.
  • Risk & Regulatory Fortification: Collaborate seamlessly with Legal and Risk departments to ensure unwavering marketing compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal controls, and evolving policy changes, safeguarding the firm's reputation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Enablement: Implement and champion advanced project management tools, interactive dashboards, and sophisticated performance trackers to elevate leadership visibility, foster data-driven decision-making, and drive accountability.
  • Process Simplification & Standardization: Lead initiatives to drive significant simplification and standardization across key marketing workflows, including strategic planning cycles and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), enhancing efficiency and agility.
  • Integrated Performance & Reporting: Develop and integrate comprehensive marketing performance tracking and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Third-Party Management Excellence: Establish and enforce best practices for third-party risk management and operational oversight.
  • Robust In-Business Controls: Design, implement, and monitor robust in-business controls to mitigate operational risks effectively.
  • Proactive Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business management, finance, or marketing operations within a global, highly matrixed organization, preferably in financial services.
  • Deep expertise in strategic budget planning, advanced vendor lifecycle management, robust operational controls, and enterprise-level governance frameworks.
  • Proven track record of driving transformational change, successfully managing large-scale processes, and leading complex cross-functional initiatives to achieve significant business outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with enterprise-level financial management systems, procurement platforms, project management tools, and sophisticated financial reporting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, champion best practices, and foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$134,960.00 - $202,440.00
