The Integrated Innovation Institute is searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team this summer at the Integrated Innovation Institute. This position reports to the Sr. Associate Director of Marketing, Integrated Innovation Institute. All interns will own and complete meaningful projects from start to finish throughout their summer with us.

Core responsibilities:

  • Works from concept to completion on a variety of projects, managing your own time
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to keep projects on track
  • Depending on the candidate's experience, projects will be assigned from the following
  • Categories:
    • Content creation— Research and write articles to be published on the iii’s
      website and used in recruiting and marketing efforts
    • Advertising campaign assistance— Write compelling copy for advertisements
      across social, paid search, display, and more
    • Website support— Work directly in the CMS to update website content, build
      pages
    • Swag— Source and design swag for upcoming events (orientation, conferences,
      appreciation gifts, etc.)
    • SEO/AEO— Complete keyword and research, analyze metrics such as search
      volume, improve visibility of the iii website by identifying and filling content gaps

You should demonstrate:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, marketing, design, or related field
  • Prior experience with content management systems (WordPress, Cascade Drupal, etc.)
  • High level of accountability and ability to work independently
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered

Requirements:

  • Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.  The university is not a qualifying employer for the STEM OPT benefit: only the 12-month OPT may be used to work at Carnegie Mellon.
  • This is a part-time position, expected to work approximately 30 hours per week.
  • This is a fixed-term position, expected to work during the summer months.
