The Opportunity

As a dedicated Marketing Content Review Advisor Senior, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving all marketing material that gets produced for the enterprise and delivered to members. Ensures material is compliant with applicable laws and regulations and advertising is clear and transparent to members.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.

What you'll do:

  • Reviews and approves highly regulated or complex marketing and advertising types of communications requests to ensure they meet all regulatory, legal and company policy requirements.
  • Reviews marketing and advertising communications across all channels including website, direct mail, emails, social media, phone, television and radio ensuring all advertising content complies with state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and internal standards.
  • Provides timely communication and positive/negative feedback to marketing partners regarding materials, including accurate and courteous follow up.
  • Facilitates and may lead the review and discussion of marketing communications with various levels throughout the organization to share, maintain and enhance knowledge of regulatory and business standards.
  • Creates internal procedures for customers to reinforce or explain marketing compliance processes or decisions to ensure consistency in application.
  • Participates in special projects as subject matter expert for marketing content.
  • May lead internal or external regulatory exam requests by researching, gathering, validating, and submitting data for responses.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years’ experience in marketing, quality assurance or relevant (i.e., marketing, banking, property and casualty) compliance experience.
  • 4 years’ experience with advertising regulations and laws with respect to large financial service institutions including but not limited to banking Products and Services (Federal Reserve, CFPB, OCC) or Insurance Products and Services (Department of Insurance).
  • Advanced verbal and written communication experience with all levels within the organization to include providing positive and negative feedback.
  • Ability to balance business objectives of marketing clients and the industry and regulatory environment.
  • Prior experience in review of direct mail, email marketing and or copywriting.
  • Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing in a highly complex environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to influence content or communications changes.

What sets you apart:

  • This role requires an active Series 7 and Series 24 license prior to hire
  • Experience interacting and filing marketing communications with external regulators
  • Experience supporting control execution to include filing with the regulators
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $85,040 - $162,550.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
