About the role:

AIG is looking for a resourceful, digital savvy, early career communicator to join our Global Corporate Communications team as a Marketing Communications Specialist. This professional will play an integral role in developing, updating and executing communications in support of our Corporate Communications and Marketing and Brand teams. The ideal candidate is someone who will come to work every day with energy, ideas, and the commitment to drive results.

This position will collaborate across our global marketing and communications disciplines spanning internal communications, external communications and brand. This role reports to the Head of Internal Communications and will be located at AIG’s headquarters in New York City. It is office based 4 days per week, with 1 day remote.

Key Responsibilities:

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for helping to coordinate the organization’s internal and external communications, and related event initiatives. This role will support the creation of content (written and digital assets) and update communication channels to support the function’s priorities and cross-channel workflow. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Build strong relationships colleagues across the global Marketing and Communications function.

  • Work closely with Global Marketing & Communications team members to provide strong communications support.

  • Manage and evolve Communications style guidance as well as routine reporting documents.

  • Support the global content / editorial team and media relations team; gathering and tracking metrics and supporting the function’s global events calendar.

  • Create and coordinate content and posting for the Company’s public website and support intranet and social media channels as needed.

  • Contribute to building visual imagery and support presentation needs.

  • Contribute to engaging, high quality content that communicates AIG’s initiatives and progress across all areas of this role’s responsibilities, as applicable.

  • Support planning, logistics, content development and successful execution of internal Purpose and Values related events for Corporate Communications deliverables.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or marketing preferred

  • 2+ years of relevant experience developing and crafting communications within a global or larger scale company. Experience in a regulated industry is preferred but not required.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to proofread

  • Able to work well independently and within a team setting. Demonstrate strong judgment and commitment to the highest standards of delivery and execution, with first-time quality and timeliness.

  • Experience with digital channels; visual design skillsets, knowledge of design software, web design and video editing, a plus

  • Critical thinker who helps to problem solve creatively and with agility.

  • Deep and broad business acumen; understanding of various communication channels.

  • Collaborates effectively with a range of stakeholders throughout the organization.

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $63,000 to $74,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
