Are you a strategic, commercially minded leader with deep expertise in market data platforms and dealing room technologies? We're looking for an experienced Market Data Manager to lead the end-to-end management of market data services that powers the Reserve Bank of Australia.  This permanent role offers the opportunity to guide a high performing team, influence strategic decisions, and strengthen the Bank’s market data capabilities as our operating environment evolves.

The role

As Market Data Manager, you will lead the team responsible for the full lifecycle of market data services, including platform administration, contract management, vendor engagement, commercial optimisation and continuous service improvement. You will work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure the Bank’s market data capabilities are reliable, cost effective, and aligned to strategic priorities.  This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial judgement and people leadership. You will also contribute to the broader leadership of Business Support Services, helping to foster a values aligned, collaborative, and high-performance culture.

The Market Data team enables these activities by ensuring the reliable delivery and optimisation of market data services.  You will work closely with internal stakeholders, technologists and vendors to deliver solutions that support the Bank’s strategic objectives and solve complex market data challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Market Data team, ensuring operational excellence across platforms, contracts and support services

  • Oversee the delivery, enhancement and reliability of market data systems, market connectivity and dealing room technologies

  • Build strong relationships and influence across both technical and business domains

  • Manage vendor relationships and commercial negotiations, ensuring cost effective and risk aware outcomes

  • Ensure robust governance, controls and risk management practices

  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and operational efficiency

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and day to day direction to a high performing team

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a capable, forward-looking leader who brings:

  • Strong experience with market data platforms, financial market systems or trading technology

  • Advanced knowledge of market data products, datasets, exchange connectivity or dealing room environments

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams

  • A strong commercial mindset with experience balancing cost, service quality and risk

  • Proven experience leading teams or mentoring in a collaborative, high performance environment

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and respond proactively to risks and opportunities

  • A continuous improvement mindset with an eye for process optimisation and service uplift
