The regional Raw Materials Leader is a key role within the LAC region to support procurement strategy implementation with excellence—targeting best efficiency, cash, quality, and productivity. Acting as a bridge to internal stakeholders, this role ensures DIAGEO is prepared for emerging challenges, while prioritizing standardization and scalability that are critical for long-term business success.
This role aggregates strong technical foundations and solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing its impact across procurement, supply chain, and innovation pillars.

Purpose of Role 

The Raw Materials and Liquids plays a pivotal role in enhancing the margin of the Local Brands/RTD portfolio driving Diageo's growth in the LAC region. This position leverages extensive cross-functional market knowledge, combining technical expertise with strategic insights to deliver margin improvements. A deep understanding of and strong influence with both local and global stakeholders enable the fostering of collaboration and alignment, advancing our RTD strategy as one cohesive team.
By engaging stakeholders across departments such as Technical, Supply, and Governance, this role identifies and captures new opportunities to enhance business performance and enable sustainable growth using Ypióca as a strategic catalyst.

Top Accountabilities 

  • Develop and execute regional sourcing strategies ensuring cost efficiency and supply continuity.

  • Assess material availability and minimize reliance on single sourcing suppliers.

  • Maintain a geographically close and reliable supplier base.

  • Establish strong supplier relationships to negotiate pricing and foster innovation.

  • Drive alignment between Ypióca and packaging suppliers for efficient material use.

  • Monitor supplier capacity and ensure scalability to support growth.

  • Evaluate lead times and enable agile demand response.

  • Ensure quality compliance with Diageo’s standards through rigorous collaboration with the Quality team.

  • Promote and oversee responsible sourcing practices, including CyberVadis adherence.

  • Align sustainability initiatives with SOP 2030 goals, fostering supplier action plans.

  • Identify cost optimization through strategic sourcing, engineering, and market intelligence.

  • Foster D&I by encouraging diverse supplier engagement and visibility at key events.
