You will strategically influence and shape insurance solutions across a diverse marine portfolio—including Hull & Machinery, P&I, cargo, and marine liabilities—delivering exceptional service and driving growth. What you’ll do

• Lead and drive successful renewal negotiations for Hull & Machinery, P&I, and marine liabilities, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor who delivers optimal client outcomes.
• Design and advise on innovative insurance programs and risk transfer strategies tailored to diverse fleet risk profiles, maximizing cost efficiency and coverage effectiveness.
• Ensure precise preparation, thorough review, and timely administration of insurance contracts, endorsements, and confirmations to uphold compliance and client confidence.
• Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with clients, prospects, internal teams, and carriers, consistently delivering exceptional service that fuels client retention and business growth.
• Champion operational excellence by spearheading workflow enhancements, digital transformation initiatives, and process improvements that boost team productivity and service quality.
• Provide expert technical guidance to team leadership and actively mentor junior colleagues, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the insurance department.

• Collaborate seamlessly with claims, risk management, and operations teams to facilitate efficient claims resolution and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.

• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand client engagement through cross-functional coverage and advisory services, enhancing overall client value.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting European marine risk to ensure clients receive informed, forward-thinking advice.

What we’re looking for

• Over 7 years of proven expertise in marine broking or marine insurance, demonstrating independent operation and trusted advisory capabilities.
• Completed apprenticeship or degree in insurance, finance, or shipping, showcasing strong foundational knowledge.
• Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, adept at making decisive decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional communicator skilled at engaging decision-makers across all levels, with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
• Highly organized, resilient, and collaborative team player with leadership and mentoring experience.
• Proficient in English (essential); knowledge of Dutch or French is advantageous but not mandatory.
