This is what you will do:
The Manufacturing Technician, Materials and Inventory supports GMP material flow and warehouse operations to ensure timely, compliant availability of materials to manufacturing end users. This role executes routine warehouse activities, maintains 5S standards, coordinates ordering and supplier communications, and partners with Quality on receipt/inspection findings and supplier deviations. The technician contributes to risk assessments, specification updates, and material improvement initiatives, including evaluation of secondary suppliers/manufacturers.
You will be responsible for:
Receipt, Inspections, and Material Movements: Management of materials to support operations following relevant standard operating procedures.
Warehouse Management: Following site processes and procedures, ensure warehouses are maintained in a state of cleanliness and compliance, to include alignment to site lean initiatives and 5s standards.
Material Inventory: Support site supply needs via purchase orders, communications with distributors and manufacturers, and work to resolve backorders and other shipment related issues.
Quality System Compliance: Initiate supplier deviations in EQV based on findings from receipts and inspections. Support risk assessments and specification updates.
Continuous Improvement: Support site continuous improvement initiatives and raw material improvements such as the identification of secondary suppliers and manufacturers.
You will need to have:
Forklift certification or ability to be forklift certified
Must be competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to use complex electronic systems such as SAP and Veeva Enterprise Quality Vault.
Must have the capacity to develop in-depth understanding of manufacturing operations, facilities/maintenance programs, and equipment lifecycle management.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours. Some qualification or other support work may need to be performed in off-hours. Material management and cleaning tasks will be required within the site warehouses and docking areas.
We would prefer for you to have:
2+ years of experience in a GMP biotech/ pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or have a significant level of transferrable work experience to ensure the immediate support of the manufacturing team
4-year degree from an accredited university is a plus
Minimum of a high school education required
