As part of the Integrity Orthopaedics team, Smith+Nephew’s latest acquisition, you will join us as a Manufacturing Technician III and play a key role in supporting the production of implantable medical devices. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, high-performing team where your hands-on technical expertise will directly impact our mission to restore people’s bodies and their abilities.
Integrity Orthopaedics transformed soft tissue repair with a patented, FDA-cleared system designed to improve surgical fixation and long-term healing in rotator cuff repair. Now part of Smith+Nephew, we are expanding production to support a broader commercial launch and drive operational excellence across the organization.
What will you be doing?
- Setting up and qualifying production equipment fixtures and tooling to ensure reliable operation
- Developing and executing preventative maintenance and calibration schedules
- Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues efficiently to minimize downtime
- Supporting process development and validation through structured testing
- Maintaining spare parts and materials for equipment and facility needs
- Documenting maintenance, calibration, testing, and validation activities in line with regulatory and company requirements
- Training colleagues on proper equipment and fixture operation
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized production environment
- Performing general facility maintenance and coordinating external contractors
- Identifying and addressing potential facility hazards
- Supporting facility layout changes, moves, and other cross-functional operational needs.
What will you need to be successful?
Education
- Two-year technical degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or similar (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in medical device or other high-reliability regulated manufacturing environments, including direct support of equipment in FDA/ISO regulated operations
- Hands-on experience with equipment validation and structured troubleshooting
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, SPC, and DOE preferred
Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience with mechanical assembly; injection molding, laser welding, and packaging experience preferred
- Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (calipers, pin gauges, optical comparator)
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- CAD experience for tooling and fixture design preferred
Competences
- Good teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated commitment to company values
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to develop assembly processes for medical devices
- Capability to use equipment such as microscope, mechanical assembly tooling & fixtures, and hand tools
Other requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to wear cleanroom clothing and work in a cleanroom environment as needed

Compensation
The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $57,000.00 - 85,500.00 USD Annual USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
