Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an NDT-focused Manufacturing Team Member to join our Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) in Rotherham. The facility is dedicated to high-volume single-crystal turbine blade production using world-class automated processes, advanced manufacturing systems and leading-edge measurement techniques.

In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting and developing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection techniques across key component features throughout the manufacturing process. You will manage non-conformance in line with the Rolls-Royce Management System and contribute to our drive for right-first-time delivery, working as part of a team committed to reducing defects across products and processes.

What you will be doing:

• Interpreting and evaluating NDT indications to ensure high-quality product assessment.

• Liaising with Controlling Laboratories and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate, develop and highlight new defects or recurring issues.

• Recording work details and non-conformance accurately while monitoring the effectiveness of inspection processes.

• Supporting basic housekeeping and 5S activities, contributing to a clean and efficient working environment.

• Participating in process improvement activities to enhance inspection capability and overall product quality.

• Working shift patterns that include nights as part of a 24/5 rotational schedule.

Position Qualifications:

• Current PCN / EN4179 / ASNT Level 2 certification in Radiography (aerospace preferred).

• Hands-on industrial or manufacturing experience, ideally in a high-precision or safety-critical environment.

• Previous inspection experience is desirable but not essential if supported by strong NDT credentials.

• Confident decision-maker with the ability to communicate clearly and escalate issues appropriately.

• Competent with computer software and digital systems used in manufacturing or inspection operations.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify opportunities for process and quality improvement.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working within aerospace, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with defect categorisation, interpretation and root-cause investigation.

• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement tools.

• Understanding of non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational setting with high accountability for product quality.
