A day in the Life:

  • Develop and Improve Systems for Automating Liquid Handling, lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions for automating liquid handling, covering system integration, programming, and robotics.
  • Ensure successful installation, development and integration of liquid handling automation systems such as Tecan and Hamilton instruments with existing infrastructure.
  • Plan and conduct thorough systems testing and solve technical issues.
  • Work closely with Technical Operations, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align automation initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Analyze current processes to find opportunities for automation to improve performance and increase efficiency.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities and role responsibilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and apply them to improve our systems.
  • Debug failures off the line, perform root-cause analysis, and update product designs as required.
  • Complete process engineering changes in OCPLM and update documentation and SOPs as needed.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Automation, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience

  • 5+ years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of engineering change control processes such as Agile and OCPLM.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • Solid statistical analysis skills and ability to perform Design of Experiments (DOE) using JMP software.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to drive and complete Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCMs).
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, with a proactive and involved approach.
  • Prior background in a biotech setting preferred.
  • Expertise in programming and integration solutions with liquid handling systems preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $100,000.00–$149,950.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
