How You Will Make an Impact:
The Manufacturing Engineer I role will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and will support the design, build, and implementation of automated manufacturing equipment across multiple division sites. This role contributes directly to improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost through innovative engineering solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Day in the life:
Design and develop mechanical systems and components for manufacturing equipment
Support fabrication, assembly, and integration of new and modified equipment
Lead equipment qualification and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable)
Drive continuous improvement in productivity, capacity, cost, and efficiency
Own mechanical engineering scope for automation projects and machine builds
Collaborate cross-functionally with controls engineers, technicians, and project managers from concept through implementation
Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical and electrical equipment issues
Travel up to 25% to support network manufacturing sites
Education:
High school diploma/ GED with 4 years of relevant technical experience required OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field with relevant coursework experience
Experience:
Experience applying engineering principles and industry standards to mechanical design
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make sound, data-driven decisions
Experience managing multiple assignments across concurrent projects
Experience delivering projects within established timelines and budgets
Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment design, fabrication, and qualification
Experience with engineering tools and methodologies such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and statistical analysis
Familiarity with ISO standards and CE directives preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Strong technical writing skills (protocols, reports, and procedures)
Knowledge of regulated environments (GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) preferred
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical and electrical systems
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to all safety and GMP requirements
