1. Stakeholder Collaboration & Product Development
- Serve as primary technical liaison between customers, suppliers, and product engineering teams, specializing in seat assembly / overhead systems / door assembly / welding processes (MIG, TIG, resistance).
- Partner with design teams to influence product development, recommending design/material/process alternatives to optimize manufacturability, cost, and quality.
2. Process Innovation & Implementation
- Design and optimize advanced metal forming, welding, and assembly processes, including tooling, equipment, and controls, to ensure design integrity, cost efficiency, and scalability from prototype to full production.
- Pilot improvements of manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, robotics) and conduct ROI analyses to align innovations with plant goals.
3. Cost & Feasibility Analysis
- Conduct manufacturing studies to identify cost drivers, quality risks, and inventory impacts. Recommend process/material changes to maximize cost-effectiveness, including labor, tooling, and equipment considerations.
- Lead pre-launch activities for new programs: manage AQP checklists, feasibility assessments, and program documentation; publish meeting minutes and progress reports.
4. Tooling & Equipment Strategy
- Spearhead tooling/equipment selection, approval, and validation to meet design intent and production timelines. Ensure compatibility with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies.
5. Continuous Improvement & Lean Integration
