ABOUT ABBOTT VASCULAR NETHERLANDS (AVN)

Abbott Vascular Netherlands in Heerlen, The Netherlands, is one of the two Abbott Vascular Tier 1 distribution centers responsible for the worldwide distribution of Abbott’s vascular products. From our 10,000 m2 warehouse we ship an average of 1,950 deliveries per day (745,000 units per month) to hospitals, Abbott distributors and Abbott affiliates in Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America. Every day, more than 150 employees in our warehouse and in supporting departments work on processing customer orders, maintaining a high service level to ensure that our customers receive the right products on time. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

  • You are the mentor of workstreams within Abbott Vascular, by your knowledge of our processes. You make sure to work in the most efficient way to meet business targets.

  • You will apply Project Management techniques, be responsible for planning and devising/adapting methods to implement and improve warehousing production.

  • You are quality-focused and support AVN within audits to explain how our processes function, including the supporting quality documents. You are also responsible for maintaining/creating and reviewing our quality procedures.

  • Assure adherence and keep AVN site up to the required standard of the environmental management system requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Identify and implement activities leading to new or improved products, processes & systems to meet strategic goals and company objectives. Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.

  • Lead exceptions according to quality standards defined by Abbott (CAPA).

  • Analyze and solve problems from basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts through to advanced and complex problems requiring innovative approaches or breakthroughs in technology.

  • Understand engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques.

  • Incorporate business policies and procedures into task completion. Understand business needs and customer needs.

  • Cultivate internal and external network resources to complete tasks. May lead project teams, determining goals and objectives. Mentors employees by sharing expertise and giving feedback and guidance.

  • Interact cross-functionally and with internal/external customers. Serve as a consultant for engineering advice on significant matters.

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND

  • Manufacturing engineer should be minimum HBO/bachelor’s degree in supply chain/mechanical/electronics engineering with 2-3 years of experience in relevant field.

  • Several years of expertise in a value-added logistics environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Good knowledge of SAP (or similar) and labeling systems

  • Project leadership / stakeholder management

  • Good technical English reading/speaking

  • Good analytical skills

  • Travel may be required
