Job Description

We are seeking a motivated entry-level Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our Medical Device Manufacturing Engineering Team. Key Responsibilities

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Develop scripts or low-code solutions for:

  • Automated calibration certificate review and routing

  • Smart scheduling for calibration and preventive maintenance

  • Database checks that flag missing or inconsistent data

  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in documenting, validating, and deploying new digital tools under ISO 13485 guidelines.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Maintain and analyze data from equipment, calibration, and quality databases (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or SQL).

  • Identify trends, anomalies, or potential data errors that affect manufacturing or quality decisions.

  • Assist in preparing dashboards, reports, and KPIs for the engineering and quality teams.

Systems Integration Support

  • Work with experienced engineers to connect equipment, sensors, and databases in preparation for a future MES (Manufacturing Execution System).

  • Learn how systems such as SAP, calibration databases, and quality systems exchange data.

  • Participate in small automation pilot projects integrating AI tools or equipment communication.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to identify opportunities for digital transformation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups — Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and IT — to understand workflow pain points and propose simple automation ideas.

  • Support equipment documentation, SOP updates, and change-control packages for new tools or processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

    Technical Skills (Preferred Exposure)

    • Basic understanding of automation or scripting tools (e.g., Power Automate, Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar).

    • Familiarity with Excel data analysis and Power BI dashboards.

    • General knowledge of database structures (SQL) and data quality principles.

    • Interest in learning about AI document processing and machine-to-system communication (OPC UA, API, etc.).

    • Understanding (or willingness to learn) of ISO 13485, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements.
