As Managing Director – Home Financing Portfolio Management & Product Development, you will lead growth and innovation across the Canadian home financing portfolio. This role is accountable for optimizing capital, liquidity, and product performance while driving revenue initiatives that go beyond traditional interest income. Leveraging advanced analytics, technology, and market insights, you will shape strategies, manage risk, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position requires deep product expertise, strategic leadership, and collaboration across the enterprise to achieve sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Portfolio Optimization

  • Lead initiatives to grow the home financing portfolio and identify new revenue streams beyond traditional interest income.
  • Optimize capital and liquidity strategies to ensure funding efficiency and portfolio profitability.
  • Recommend business priorities and develop strategic roadmaps for execution.

Innovation & Product Development

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle—from ideation and market research to launch and ongoing management.
  • Use customer insights, competitive intelligence, and advanced analytics to design products that meet evolving market needs.
  • Address product gaps and opportunities, including defining technology requirements and collaborating with technology teams.

Strategic Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct independent analysis and develop business cases for new initiatives.
  • Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Manage end-to-end product risks, including setting risk parameters and monitoring exposures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s risk appetite framework.
  • Develop and implement climate risk strategies for the home financing business.

Change Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead change management programs, including readiness assessments, planning, and execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement, productivity enhancements, and operational excellence.
  • Activate a winning culture aligned with organizational purpose and strategy.

Customer Experience

  • Oversee the end-to-end customer journey, ensuring exceptional service and resolution of complex escalations.
  • Use market research and customer feedback to refine products and services.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team.
  • Foster an inclusive environment, develop future leaders, and drive talent acquisition and retention.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, simplicity, and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in home financing, Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) portfolio management, and product development.
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury functions such as capital and liquidity management, risk frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of RESL risk management.
  • Expertise in analytics, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Proven leadership in driving strategic initiatives and managing change.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
