About this role

Summary 

This is a leadership role within the Digital Assets organization at BlackRock, a business unit that leads our efforts across the firm’s activities in digital assets, including crypto assets, stablecoins and tokenization.  This team develops the firm’s strategy around digital assets, oversees its execution in concert with partner teams, and takes a leading role in engaging with clients and other external stakeholders.   

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead the business strategy for Digital Assets across Asia, setting the vision, commercial targets, and execution roadmap aligned to global priorities. 

  • Define strategy, working with partner teams to deliver product sequencing, regulatory engagement plans, and distribution paths (banks, brokers, crypto exchanges, fintech platforms). 

  • Build and manage a multi-year commercial plan, and first-mover “big bets” where the firm can win  

  • Manage and lead execution of multiple major cross-functional digital assets initiatives across APAC 

  • Take a leading role in the day-to-day operations of the digital assets team 

  • Work with internal teams and external providers, and drive accountability for project execution 

  • Lead the build-out of strategy development at the general, project, and project-specific level, including the development of written content 

  • Coordinate preparation of materials and other critical content for internal partners, executives, and clients 

  • Take a leading role around complex client engagements and deliver successful client outcomes 

 

Cross-Platform Execution 

  • Align tokenization and stablecoin initiatives with global cash, ETF, and private markets strategies; ensure Asia requirements are embedded into global builds 

  • Establish a “Centre of Excellence” mindset—knowledge sharing, training, and citizen-developer programmes for DA workflows; coach next-gen leaders 

 

Regulatory, Risk & Governance 

  • Coordinate regulatory advocacy and market structure development in partnership with Market Advocacy and GAPP teams 

  • Participate in regional Digital Assets SteerCos and working groups 

  • Maintain a relentless risk discipline—counterparty standards, AML/KYC, wallet risk, data protection, resilience, and supervisory controls—keeping fiduciary duty at the core. 

Requirements 

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience 

  • Action-oriented problem solver capable of working cross-functionally to drive execution 

  • Strong team player capable of working with a diverse array of working styles and approaches 

  • Professional experience or strong demonstrated interest in blockchain technology and digital assets 

  • High level of intellectual curiosity 

  • Organizational and time-management skills, strong initiative, and attention to detail 

  • Outstanding career achievement, with demonstrated leadership and results 

  • Strong writing and research skills
