The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Managing Counsel (m/f/x)*, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Serving as the primary commercial lawyer for Solventum’s HIS (Health Information Systems) Business across Germany and other countries as well as supporting other Business Groups and internal clients in Switzerland and Austria.

  • Acting as the legal business partner to help grow our HIS business responsibly and at speed - This requires providing pragmatic, growth oriented counsel that enables commercial outcomes while managing risk.

  • Drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements and cooperations, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and regulations, in particular local/EU digital laws such as the EU AI Act in the MedTech context. 

  • Partnering with business leaders to shape go-to-market strategies, supporting pricing/promotions frameworks, delivering practical training, and designing legal processes that accelerate the business.

  • Acting as the primary legal contact for Switzerland and Austria governance matters, coordinating domestic and cross border topics with local stakeholders and our international Legal Affairs team.

  • Contributing to agile legal operations and governance, rethinking established processes to streamline ways of working across DACH and EMEA. 

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Fully qualified lawyer (Germany) (Rechtsanwältin/Rechtsanwalt) with PQE gained at an international law firm or in house legal team. 

  • Business acumen and creativity in crafting solutions that enable growth while mitigating risk.

  • Solid experience in commercial contracting and negotiation and day-to-day commercial legal advice.

  • Comfort working in an international, cross-functional and remote legal team and an agile, fast-moving environment.

  • Curiosity in using legal AI tools to help drive efficiency, improve productivity, and advance Solventum’s use of technology.

  • Fluency in German and English; excellent written and verbal communication.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Background and interest in (digital) healthcare, software/IT law preferred.

  • Familiarity with Swiss and Austrian commercial/healthcare legal landscapes can be a benefit but is not required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to understand the business goals and rationales and manage stakeholders’ expectations.

  • Remote

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic & international
