This role supports the formulation of Transfer pricing, dispute prevention and resolution policies, negotiation of Advance Pricing Agreements and Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP) relating to transfer pricing issues with foreign tax authorities

Transfer Pricing:

- Provide guidance to internal staff and public on transfer pricing principles and rules

- Pro-actively resolve cross border tax issues and resolve MAP disputes

- Provide tax certainty to taxpayers

- Represent Singapore at relevant international meetings relating to transfer pricing and dispute resolution

Tax Policy:

- Scan international trends and developments, changes in business environment to identify potential rule and policy issues for review

- Conduct tax policy review and suggest improvements to develop new policies supported with the use of data, inputs from design projects and taxpayer feedback

- Consolidate and analyse data from different sources with advanced analytics tools to identify and prioritise policy gaps for review, and leverage data to formulate policy

- Design tax policies, rules and legislation towards simplification and taxpayer empowerment

- Engage stakeholders to co-design tax policies

- Increase collaboration, negotiation and effective networking and engagement with multiple domestic and foreign private and government sectors stakeholders for effective policy making.

- Maintain and drive budget and legislative amendment processes for IRAS

- Communicate and support branch/division on the policies/rulings matters (including new updates)

Data Analytics:

- Use of big data to glean insights to identify areas for policy/ rules review

- Self-serve, build dashboards and/or perform data exploration/analysis to support business decisions

[What we are looking for]

- Candidates with 3 or more years of experience in Transfer Pricing are preferred

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills and good grasp of tax and related legal issues

- Meticulous and concerned with details

- Resourceful and able to work independently

- May have to travel overseas occasionally for international meetings or attend virtual international meetings outside of standard working hours (usually in the evenings)

- Strong team spirit, positive attitude, and willingness to learn, experiment and innovate
