About the Role
As the Manager of Merch Analytics & Testing, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead cross-divisional reporting, analytical projects and testing strategy at Old Navy. In this role, you will have outsized impact by testing and developing future merchandising strategies. You will partner cross-functionally to design, execute, and scale structured tests that improve customer experience, operations, and financial outcomes. This is a strategic role and requires deep retail process knowledge, strong analytical and project management skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
What You'll Do
- You will shape the department’s high-level mission while overseeing testing methodologies, tools, and clear reporting of results and other initiatives.
- Design end-to-end tests; including generating a hypothesis, developing KPIs, managing the operational plan and sharing out results.
- Manage cross-functional relationships to ensure testing accuracy and deliver statistically relevant, actionable recommendations.
- Standardize testing frameworks to enable repeatable, scalable execution.
- Lead a small team and create an environment that fosters growth and learning.
- Prepare executive level readouts and strategies including reporting.
Who You Are
Retail Acumen & Analytical Skills
- Strong understanding of store operations and online retail strategy.
- Experience designing and running tests, managing pilots and complex projects from beginning to end, with the ability to translate insights into action.
- Candidate should be extremely organized and able to orchestrate and manage multiple workflows across cross-functional teams.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Proven success managing complex projects across disparate teams. Strong listening skills and the ability to influence without authority.
- The candidate should be analytical, curious, resilient and not afraid of strategic pivots.
Experience & Education
- 7+ years in retail operations, merchandising, testing, strategy, or related field.
- Education – BA/BS degree required, with an emphasis on statistics, data management, supply chain or economics.
- Software knowledge – Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (preferred). Experience working with different testing software. Ability to code or understand code preferred.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and statistics.
