Job Summary

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technology Deployment Manager is responsible for ensuring that all facets of the Technical Services organization contribute to air transportation safety. The Technology Deployment Manager is accountable for project implementation; compliance to our quality control program; staff training and certification; human and financial resources.

In this role you will:

  • Leads a team of employees by creating a collaborative and positive work environment.

  • Plans and manages the activities of employees.
  • Directs the day-to-day activities by establishing the work unit’s strategies, business goals, performance indicators and objectives, priorities, work plans, milestone deliverables, financial and resource plans
  • Works effectively and in a highly collaborative fashion with local Flight Information Region (FIR)  management, peers in other FIR’s and national Air Navigation Service (ANS) technology to deliver services, influence change and build support for initiatives
  • Partners with key stakeholders and collaborates with other business units, users and customers.
  • Ensures ANS technology equipment and materials are available, reliable, accurate and properly installed.
  • Manages the introduction of ANS systems and enhancements within the FIR
  • Manages the Quality Control Program to ensure compliance to CARS (regulated by Transport Canada), International Standards Organization (ISO) and Integrated Quality Assurance (IQA).
  • Identifies, develops, implements and continually refines strategies, metrics, practices and procedures for the management and reporting of technology and process performance.
  • Partners with local FIR management and national ANS Technology to establish and maintain a roadmap of all ANS system changes occurring within the FIR
  • Responsible for advancing ANS system standardization and transitioning the FIR to these standards which includes limiting the use of tactical/localized solutions that work against longer-term strategies
  • Manages all aspects of ANS projects within the FIR to ensure projects are successfully delivered while minimizing disruption to the day to day operation of the ANS.
  • Reviews and manages the operational and budgetary plans, allocates and manages material, financial, and human resources to meet future business needs and priorities

What you bring:

  • Secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable program in electronics technology normally acquired through completion of 2 to 3 years of post secondary study in this subject, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years related experience in the industry.
  • Proven leadership and people experience
  • Project and program management experience
  • Experience managing budgeting and purchasing activities for technology procurement
  • Valid Driver’s licence required
