Job Summary

Position is responsible for developing, coordinating, facilitating, and implementing policies, procedures, short-term goals, and long-term goals of non-clinical functions of the hospital system to ensure that resources are maximized and financial viability is maintained for the achievement of department and organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field or equivalent experience

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Must have ability to perform complex and diverse administrative duties that involve application of procedures, independent analysis, interpretation of data and demonstrate appropriate judgment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Formulates and ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing performance initiatives with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Manages primary operational functions for one or more hospital support operations departments.

  • Supervises monthly financial and operational activities to ensure adequate staffing and scheduling; screens and selects staff, establishing appropriate level of compensation; addresses performance issues and takes corrective action as necessary; conducts performance reviews in a timely and effective manner.

  • Establishes credibility with employees, physicians, and management team members and outside business partners and customers.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staffs and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
