This role is based at our Cincinnati, Ohio site within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing organization. The Cincinnati site plays a critical role in supporting global pharmaceutical and biotech customers by delivering high-quality manufacturing and supply chain solutions that enable life-changing therapies to reach patients faster.

You will join the Cincinnati Supply Chain Leadership Team, working closely with cross-functional partners across manufacturing, quality, commercial operations, and customer teams to ensure efficient production planning and delivery performance.

As part of the Supply Chain Leadership Team, you will lead the planning organization responsible for production scheduling, demand planning, capacity planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

In this role, you will drive operational excellence and ensure our commitments to customers are met through strong planning processes, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will directly support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Day in the Life

As the leader of the Supply Chain Planning team, you will:

  • Lead the planning organization responsible for production scheduling, demand planning, long-term capacity planning, and S&OP processes.

  • Ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) performance and production readiness metrics are achieved to support revenue and EBITA targets.

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing contact for Supply Chain, ensuring clear communication and alignment on delivery commitments.

  • Drive organizational change by developing staff, encouraging collaboration, and fostering a high-engagement team environment.

  • Identify and implement process improvements for development and commercial planning functions.

  • Monitor OTIF metrics and coordinate tracking, reporting, and improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee client order management in SAP, ensuring accurate order entry, tracking, and fulfillment from receipt to delivery.

  • Partner with clients to facilitate special requests and project-related supply chain support.

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate staff to ensure efficient operation of the planning function.

  • Establish strategic plans and operational objectives for the planning team while ensuring alignment with site and company goals.

Keys to Success

Education

Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or other technical field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience required

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing industry preferred

  • Experience working with SAP ERP systems preferred

  • Experience managing planning, scheduling, or supply chain operations

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning processes, including demand planning, production scheduling, and capacity planning

  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and regulated manufacturing environments

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP

  • Excellent project management and time management skills

  • Data analysis capabilities to support business decisions and process improvements

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office and manufacturing environment within a regulated pharmaceutical facility. Occasional interaction with production areas may be required.
