The Manager, Strategic Initiatives – Commission will be a key driver in transforming our commissions processes and reporting capabilities. This highly collaborative role will lead the design and execution of a strategic roadmap to position Varicent as the single source of truth for all commissions-related reporting needs. The Manager will play a pivotal role in onboarding stakeholders onto new processes and technologies, fostering cross-functional partnerships, and ensuring seamless integration of reporting solutions across the organization. Additionally, this role will hold the responsibility of enhancing the rep experience by implementing processes and tools that empower reps with accurate, transparent, and timely commission-related insights. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional project management expertise, a deep understanding of commissions operations, and a strong command of reporting tools and data visualization, all while championing innovation and continuous improvement.
About the Role:
Lead strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing commissions processes and reporting.
Assist in developing and executing a roadmap to consolidate all commissions reporting into Varicent.
Identify gaps in current reporting processes and drive solutions to address them.
Define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and oversee implementation and user acceptance testing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the rep experience by ensuring commissions reporting is accurate, transparent, and easily accessible.
Assist in facilitating Varicent focus groups to gather feedback from users, including sales reps, and incorporate their insights into system improvements and process design.
Develop training materials and support change management to drive adoption of Varicent as the one-stop shop for commissions reporting.
Analyze data and provide actionable insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
About You:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
Overall 10+ years of experience
5+ years of experience in commissions operations, sales operations, finance, or a related field.
Experience leading cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
Hands-on experience with Varicent (or similar commissions management platforms) strongly preferred.
Strong command of reporting tools, data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Excel.
Familiarity with system implementation, user acceptance testing, and process improvement methodologies.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data to provide actionable insights.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Experience overseeing project lifecycles, including requirements gathering, roadmap development, and change management.
Experience facilitating focus groups and incorporating end-user feedback into process and system improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing training materials and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
Ability to support and drive adoption of new systems and processes through effective change management strategies.
Passion for enhancing the end-user (rep) experience through process transparency, accessibility, and accuracy.
