The Macro Space Manager is responsible for ensuring that category space is optimally allocated, maintained within stores and across the business in line with company format blueprints, category merchandising and space performance criteria. Additionally, that there is an accurate record of Macro Space per category and other commercially material fixtures per store in order to facilitate accurate planograms and merchandising.Minimum requirements
Tertiary education (Post Graduate qualification preffered
5 – 8 years retail experience
Experience within Commercial Space and or Operations is an advantage
Excel skills an advantage

Key responsibilities
Macro Space - Day to Day
Management of team’s time and resource allocation.
Management of deliverables and project-based outcomes.
Being proficient in drawing up Macro Space plans using the company tools and absorbing capacity constraints when necessary
Collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to deliver end to end service
Ensure that an accurate space matrix is maintained and that Planograms are appropriately assigned to stores according to their Macro Space allocation.
Ensure that store space is periodically audited and remains aligned with Macro Space plans.
Ensure that Commercial category-specific strategies and are planned and delivered as required from time to time.
Blueprint Design and Implementation
Co-ordination, interpretation, and implementation of the commercial leadership strategies into the blueprint design process and ultimately into the store development process governing new and revamp stores
Build and execute an “offer plan” that dictates which offers and services to have in each blueprint and submit to the commercial leadership for validation on blueprint principles
Rebalance space allocations based on density analysis and Commercial strategy
Define and recommend category flows and adjacencies for all store formats, demographics, and sizes
Track and monitor the actual space density vs the defined targets and constantly recommend changes
New Store, Revamps and Reflows
Manage the time-based approach to ensuring store layouts are delivered according to all implemented strategies
Manage the integrated approach with commercial leadership, space and range teams and store development (store readiness program)
