The Reliability Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership for Reliability Lab Operations in Wilmington, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of reliability stress testing in support of new product qualifications, manufacturing change qualifications, and reliability risk assessments. This role is accountable for operational excellence, cycle-time performance, asset utilization, and continuous improvement across reliability lab activities, while maintaining full compliance with ADI and industry quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of reliability technicians and operators executing MIL‑STD, JEDEC, and AEC‑Q100 based reliability stress testing (e.g., HTOL, HAST, ESD, Latch‑Up, Burn‑In).
  • Own day-to-day lab operations with a focus on minimizing invalid failures, improving qualification cycle time, and maximizing equipment and chamber utilization.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational issues impacting reliability execution, including invalid failures, handling escapes, or equipment-related issues.
  • Coordinate closely with Reliability Engineering and HW/Systems Engineering teams to ensure qualification readiness, material availability, and on-time execution aligned to qualification plans and business priorities.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across lab processes, workflows, and automation, including adoption of SMART Lab and digital reliability systems.
  • Represent the Wilmington Reliability Lab in cross-site harmonization efforts, sharing best practices and aligning processes with other ADI reliability labs globally.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO‑9001, IATF‑16949, and ADI Quality Management System requirements, supporting internal and external audits as needed.
  • Manage operating expenses and capital equipment planning for the reliability lab, including execution of annual cost reduction and efficiency targets.
  • Develop and mentor technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning within Reliability Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor reliability, test, or manufacturing operations, including hands-on exposure to reliability stress testing and lab operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of JEDEC, AEC‑Q100, and industry reliability standards.
  • People oriented with experience in a high-mix, high-complexity reliability lab environment.
  • Familiarity with digital lab systems, automation, or SMART lab initiatives.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $122,400 to $168,300.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
