The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 114,288.80 CAD - 150,004.05 CAD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. The Manager, Quality is responsible for managing and improving the Quality systems, programs and standards for the Brantford location across varied technologies and product types. This includes the management of the Quality Assurance Labs, Quality Improvement department and all Quality personnel. The Manager, Quality is responsible for ensuring that all applicable corporate and system requirements are met. Management of ISO, GMP and Health Canada regulations are an integral part of this role with the implementation of personal care products at site. This position requires strong personal initiative to identify opportunities, achieve standardization and implement Best Practices within the Brantford manufacturing facility. Internally, this position partners with Global and Regional Quality Teams, SHE, Lean, Engineering and other cross functional groups (RD&E, DTV, and Commercialization) on capital projects and improvement initiatives to ensure technical alignment. It is the responsibility of all SCJ Brantford manufacturing employees to follow Good manufacturing practices as directed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhering to and reinforcing organizational compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure the quality and safety of the products manufactured at the site. 
  • Ensuring appropriate quality standards are developed, implemented, and implemented for components and raw materials being received, as well as finished goods being produced including the Playbook standards
  • Work collaboratively with Operations to identify areas of improvement in the manufacturing process, included but not limited to the use of technology in the optimization of quality standards
  • Ensure audits (Internal, ISO) and subsequent corrective actions are completed as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring the adherence to SCJ policies and regulations. · Actively leads quality support activities for manufacturing, including project support for capital projects, new product development and DTV projects
  • Foster a culture of quality, developing capabilities of site quality team to support site needs and working cross-functionally with department leaders and operations associates to drive quality standards and processes
  • Drive quality metrics and coordinate quality data collection; presenting and leading management review for the site to drive home quality priorities.
  • Drive performance to Global Quality initiatives and leadership for the Quality Absolutes
  • Communicate and manage any Quality Escalated Issues
  • Assist manufacturing operations to resolve chronic quality losses. Manage products and components on Quality Hold working with cross functional groups as needed (MHT, Planning, North America Quality Engineering) to drive Product Disposition and Corrective Action
  • Manage and correspond with raw material suppliers to address non-conformance events
  • Serve as Quality Leader and owner of the Daily Quality Management System process
  • Manage the ISO 9001 system and provide support for the manufacturing division on the implementation and maintenance of the system. · Responsible for the quality department budget.
  • Maintain relations with counterparts at other locations to ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Identify continual improvement opportunities for the quality programs and systems.
  • Qualification of products and processes.
  • Reduction of Consumer complaints through analysis of CRC data to determine unfavorable trends and provide support to develop projects/plans to remedy identified issues.
  • Prioritization of Quality Resources to support Strategic Quality Plans and Business Goals

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:

  • University degree in Engineering, Sciences or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in implementing and leading TPM and Quality Initiatives
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience with management systems (ISO 9001 preferred).
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Ontario Health and Safety regulations

  • Continuous Improvement – Identifies and drives improvements utilizing TPM/Lean methodology, Six Sigma Black Belt advantageous
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate high interpersonal and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of organizations both internally and externally

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is performed in an office environment with frequent exposure to manufacturing.
  • Support of other manufacturing site may be required, with travel expected to be no more than 20%
