As Purchasing Manager at Cleveland Clinic, this role oversees daily procurement operations across more than 300 locations in Ohio, Florida, and Nevada, managing over 1.5 million purchase orders annually. It is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet supply needs, while also leading the purchasing team in the acquisition of goods and services. Additionally, the role focuses on implementing best practices across the organization and optimizing purchasing processes to enhance overall efficiency.

A caregiver in this position works remotely in Ohio or Florida Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Lead enterprise purchasing functionality, including a team of 15 buyers supporting over 1.5 million purchase orders annually.
  • Oversee buying processes to ensure compliance to corporate policies for all products, services and equipment.
  • Support new and existing caregivers (8k + regular requestors) and provide training for procurement functions in Oracle and Ivalua.
  • Implement, track and report key functional metrics targeted at measuring departmental performance including timely invoice payment, customer satisfaction, on-hold resolution, perfect orders and rush orders.
  • Ensure timely issue of all purchase orders and proactive expediting ensuring timely fulfillment.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate supply chain risks working with both internal and external teams.
  • Function as business owner and subject matter expert related to data stewardship, analytics, automation and artificial intelligence.
  • Manage and audit outputs of all automated solutions that interact with purchasing applications.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Logistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and seven years of experience in supply chain, data management or purchasing OR Associate’s degree and eight years of experience OR Master’s degree and three years of experience
  • Three years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate complex information to administrative leadership
  • Strong analytics skills and ability to research/troubleshoot problems 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Healthcare background
  • ERP System experience
  • Project Management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Personal Protective Equipment:
