Your Opportunity
As the Manager, Property Leasing, you will lead the sourcing, negotiation and securing of leasehold properties that support Mission Australia’s services and programs. In this role, you will identify suitable sites, manage lease negotiations, and ensure favourable and compliant lease agreements are established. You will be responsible for reviewing all leasing documentation, including leases, licences and other legal property agreements, while ensuring alignment with organisational policies and risk requirements.
You will also oversee the administration of all leasehold-related matters and provide leadership and support to the Senior Leasing Coordinator to ensure the effective management of Mission Australia’s leasehold property portfolio.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship within the leasing function, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and high-quality and cost-effective leasing outcomes.
Source, negotiate and secure leasehold properties to support Mission Australia’s service delivery across its portfolio.
Manage lease renewals, reviews, options and terminations to achieve favourable commercial outcomes for the organisation.
Prepare and negotiate leasing proposals, Heads of Agreement and oversee the execution of all leasing documentation, including leases and licences.
Provide expert property advice to internal stakeholders, supporting site managers to understand and meet their lease obligations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents and property consultants while supporting the implementation of streamlined leasing processes.
Requirements for Success
Tertiary qualifications in Property, Land Economics, Finance or a related discipline (preferred).
5–7 years’ experience in commercial or industrial property, leasing or property management.
Demonstrated experience managing a corporate leasing portfolio, including lease procurement, renewals, disposals and contract execution.
Strong knowledge of Australian property markets, property legislation, lease agreements and WHS requirements.
Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
Strong organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
