Job Description

We are looking for an organized, proactive and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our Hoofddorp, the Netherlands manufacturing site. This position will be responsible for leading and executing from definition to handover multiple biopharmaceutical Technical Capital Projects and own financial project controls within our Capital Portfolio. Our new Project Manager will deliver ‘best in class’ projects that meets strict safety, quality, capital and schedule requirements.

The ideal candidate will have good experience of leading all aspects of end-to-end Project management within medium to high complexity Capital Projects, combined with a strong strategic mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide guidance for the design, planning and execution of the entire project portfolio for equipment, facilities and utilities CapEx projects

  • Develop strategic roadmaps for facility and equipment lifecycle to meet product and capacity demands

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, project sponsors, other departments, and external stakeholders to prepare business cases and justify capital for new projects

  • Develop and implement project plans. Own project execution and guide a multidisciplinary team from inception through project completion

  • Manage activities leading to the successful execution of assigned projects

  • Communicate across functional and leadership teams to inform project status and risks, elevate issues, present recommendations, and implement modifications or project plans

  • Create and deliver project presentations to cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that phase transitions are efficient and comprehensive

  • Actively monitor financial status and forecast for the project portfolio. Provide forecasts for active projects as well as develop financial forecasts for future years based on site strategic goals

  • Ensure compatibility and consistency with existing organization and industry standards

  • Lead ongoing project risk analysis as well as mitigation plan and lead continuous improvement process through lessons learned sessions
     

Requirements:
 

  • MSc/BSc Degree in Engineering or Technology

  • 5+ years of Engineering Technical Project Management experience (Pharma/Biotech/Medical Device/Chemical/Food/Semiconductor) – CAPM, PMP or PRINCE II preferred

  • Demonstrated Project Management knowledge of tools, techniques, culture, software applications (e.g. Microsoft Project)

  • Technically knowledgeable, can relate to and understand complex technology-based issues

  • Understands business needs and can translate these to engineering concepts

  • Good working knowledge of Project Controls in cost and schedule development, financial assessments and managing of Budget and Schedule.

  • Knowledgeable with cGMP manufacturing as well as regulatory requirements

  • Knowledge of the GAMP validation model; familiarity with equipment specifications and validation lifecycle (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ)

  • Great interpersonal communication and team building skills - ability to build and lead cross-functional teams

Must exhibit high emotional intelligence, with demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate through challenging situations and difficult conversations
