Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems is hiring a Manager 2 of Project Managers to lead the execution of capital projects across multiple sites (Magna, Promontory) in Utah. This role will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects aligned to cost, schedule, and quality objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and capable of setting and executing a clear vision for the Project Management team. This individual will be customer-focused, comfortable driving process improvements, and committed to developing high-performing teams.

 Responsibilities Include:
    •    Directly lead and manage a team of Project Managers supporting multiple Utah sites, setting clear expectations and driving performance.
    •    Oversee a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring alignment to business priorities, budgets, and schedules.
    •    Serve as a liaison between project management, planning, project teams, and line management to ensure effective coordination and communication.
    •    Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, and scope; prepare and present status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
    •    Act as a working leader by managing a select portfolio of projects while modeling strong project execution practices.
    •    Identify project risks and issues, and lead resolution efforts to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
    •    Establish and improve project management processes, tools, and tracking mechanisms to drive consistency and efficiency.
    •    Ensure compliance with Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and production environment requirements.
    •    Lead employee development efforts, including coaching, performance management, and ongoing learning and growth opportunities.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80, allowing employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


Basic Qualifications:
    •    Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in Project Management, Engineering, or related STEM field
    •    Experience managing capital construction, facilities, or procurement projects
    •    Experience leading projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance outcomes
    •    Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications:
    •    PMP certification
    •    Prior people leadership experience
    •    Aerospace & Defense or manufacturing environment experience
    •    Facilities or construction project experience

 

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
