Manager - Product Management (Digital Payments)

In this role you will work as a Product Manager for Global  Payments  Digital Products.  You will ensure that Western Union has best-in-class payments user capabilities. You will own and set the strategy for your product line and be accountable for execution of that strategy.  

Role Responsibilities  

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for the product lines of digital payments for Western Union's global markets.
  • Think strategically and creatively to gather product and process insights from customers and key internal / external stakeholders  
  • Is perceived as a go to product leader for the team, set clear expectations for the team and drive team engagement, and incorporate short- and long-term development goals of the team members.
  • Proposing solutions that promote organizational key performance indicators and follow-up with analytics teams to measure success.  
  • Own the requirement definition, research, metrics analysis, testing, launch and ongoing optimizations.
  • Be the subject matter expert on digital for multiple payment flows.
  • Excellent communication skills as this role will require liasoning with cross functional teams across business, regions, engineering, PMO, monitoring teams
  • Should have worked in churning out product funnels, experience in Analytics for ascertaining the product performance (any tool like Google Analytics, Amplitude etc)
  • Understand product alternatives and work with multi-disciplined team to understand trade-offs and put value on alternatives.  You will define and document product requirements, features, and functionality.   
  • Partner closely with engineers, operations, product marketing, sales, customer success, risk, and finance to ensure our clients are at the center of everything we build and that they’re delighted by our work.    
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle ensuring that proper alignment and approvals are obtained from Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Infosec so that development timelines are not jeopardized.   
  • Lead in-house teams using agile scrum methodology drafting business requirements, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with scrum team members to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications.   
  • Provide ongoing analysis on product effectiveness using a data driven approach.   
  • Anticipates user needs based on research and the user journey; teaches research techniques and guides teams to distil pain points and bring the voice of the user back to product teams
  • Sets strategic objectives, prioritization principles and philosophy; leads development of 12-month product roadmap and release plan; focuses team on emerging technology, emerging trends, and opportunities
  • Revises, prioritizes and triages initiatives for resource allocation; works with stakeholders to synchronize work and make prioritization trade-off decisions, coordinates with Agile Teams and stakeholders to agree on goals, priorities and dependencies; reviews stories when required
  • Help plan, interpret, and validate iteration and testing results; reviews and approves metrics
  • Articulates actionable insights, leads team in resolving incidents; looks for processes and systems to improve analysis
  • Identifies risks and may implement mitigation strategies; ensures team understands importance of risk management; ideates and may design controls for identified risk. Escalates risk events and/or gaps in timely fashion. May participate in retrospectives or Risk Review Forums. Partners with First- and Second-Line Risk groups to ensure alignment with the firm’s risk appetite.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to anticipate risks.
  • Identifies and tests risk controls and ensures compliance
  • Engages audience, displays strong presence and clearly articulates key messages and takeaways; creates stakeholder map, impact analysis and communication plan; establishes trusted relationships with partners & leverages network

  

Role Requirements  

  • 10 to 15 years of overall experience with at least 8+ years in Digital Product Management experience preferably in B2C consumer facing environment. (Financial services is a plus) 
  • Consumer product management experience, with a deep understanding of the technical ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of leading the development and implementation of successful product strategies with excellent cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with teams in different locations.  
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.   
  • Strong business writing, numerical analysis, presentation, and verbal communication skills.   
  • Get things done attitude; with self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines.   
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for creating great customer experiences.   
  • Ability to break down complex experiences into simple documents, stories, and flows.  Experience in developing user flows and collaboration Diagrams.   
  • Experience with customer research and usability testing methodologies.   
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds.   
  • Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies.  
  • Team player with ability to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and under pressure.  
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to constantly deep dive and take decisions based on data.
