Job Description:

Our global growth continues, and we want you to be a part of it. We are starting a new team to support Product and Test Engineering for large SOCs with 224Gb/s SERDES and Automotive products.

Microchip is currently looking for a Manager of Product and Test Engineering to join our Product Engineering Department for the Communications Business Unit in Penang, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Product/Test engineering activities from development through production ramp and sustaining support.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Product and Test Engineers.
  • Drive wafer sort and final test strategy development for new products.
  • Oversee development, validation, release, and optimization of ATE test programs.
  • Coordinate test hardware development including probe cards, DUT boards, and burn-in boards as required.
  • Partner with design teams on DFT/testability strategy and ATPG-related implementation support.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineering to define qualification requirements and support product/package qualification execution.
  • Monitor yield trends, analyze failures, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Support manufacturing readiness for NPI builds and HVM transfer.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to test time reduction, cost optimization, coverage enhancement, quality improvement, and yield improvement.
  • Coordinate across worldwide teams to ensure alignment on deliverables, schedules, risks, and escalation handling.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in semiconductor product engineering or test engineering.
  • Prior experience in technical leadership or direct people management.
  • Experience with semiconductor ATE environments for wafer sort and/or final test.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device fundamentals, CMOS circuits, characterization methods, yield analysis, and production support processes.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Experience with Advantest 93K platforms.
