We currently have an exciting opportunity to fill an open Manager role on the PA Finance team. The PA Finance team reports into the Prudential Advisors business unit President and is part of an Empowered team model. The PA Finance team drives financial excellence and strategic growth for Prudential Advisors through:  

  • Planning and Analysis,

The manager will frequently interact with business leaders and cross-functional teams to drive both financial and strategic outcomes, collaborating closely with business leaders and providing financial analysis to support the ongoing execution of growth strategy and other business case/transformation initiatives. The manager will also serve as the primary finance point of contact and subject matter expert for the LPL (external broker-dealer platform) Conversion Day 2 Compensation Project, collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide guidance related to accounting and reporting changes. This role is a great opportunity for you to learn and be a part of a growing business at Prudential Financial. 

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid in Newark, NJ and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site. 
 

What you can expect: 

  • Lead quarter- and year-end financial reporting for Pru Advisors including presenting financial results, preparation of board meeting materials and supporting internal or external audit requests.  

  • Partner with LPL’s (external broker-dealer platform) finance and operations teams to manage and reconcile monthly Alteryx-based statement reviews, including revenue and cash reconciliations, ensuring data integrity across internal partners. 

  • Oversee Prudential Advisors’ multi-line sales forecasting and planning process through collaboration. 

  •  Lead FFB submission for P/L forecast for corporate forecast consolidation. 

  • Oversee quarterly production of Firm Economics of PA’s 22 firms to help measure and improve each firm’s profitability performance and drive field leader’s accountability.  

  • Deliver sales distribution industry survey through partnership with McKinsey. Utilize survey results and data analysis to generate insights on market and competitors to guide strategic decisions and drive actionable changes.  

  • Champion operational efficiency by identifying, designing, and implementing technology- driven process automation and improvements to create flexibility in the team.  

  • Support the team in completing BU, corporate and enterprise-level transformation initiatives, including FM Transformation.  

 

What you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics (MBA or CPA a plus).  

  • Minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience. 

  • Significant experience with financial systems and financial reporting 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  

  • Ability to influence indirect reporting relationships and business partners 

  • Highly motivated and creative/strategic thinker 

  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to succeed both independently and as part of team 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines 

  • Strong PC Skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods 

It’d be a plus if you had: 

  • Prior planning & analysis and financial modeling experience  

  • Prior supervision expereince

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
