The Materials Management Manager will have general management responsibility for the operational Materials function. As a leader, this role will have overall responsibility to plan, organize and monitor the activities of the Materials Management team as it relates to all aspects of lean material flow process development, standardization, advancement and implementation across Oshkosh Corporation manufacturing and warehousing network. The Materials Management Manager will also be responsible for developing talent and next generation leadership within the segment Materials Management team.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Lead the Materials Management team through Frequent Meaningful Conversations to achieve business results and develop team members.
  • Lead continuous improvement of the organization by engaging with segment business leaders to drive segment compliance with the corporate material flow strategy by leveraging extensive analytical and leadership capabilities to resolve the barriers to implementation.
  • Maintain the MRP report card including inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory levels, E&O inventory reduction.
  • Resolve problem utilizing acquired knowledge and analytical abilities. Utilize ERP system to create planning reports for management, production and material teams.
  • Leverage shop-floor lean material flow implementation experience to lead and support projects focused on synchronization of material consumption with production, maximizing efficiency of material conveyance routes and optimal material presentation to the point of use.
  • Significantly reduce excess material handling through value stream analysis and development of business solutions.
  • Lead projects to implement sustainable process improvements that are aligned with the material flow strategy.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC) team to reduce total supply chain.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) teams on future build schedules to meet anticipated customer requirements without increasing inventory.
  • Configure and align MRP requirements with lean inventory initiatives such as PFEP or Kanban.
  • Automate business processes in an effort to reduce information waste, inventory waste and reduce indirect labor.
  • Drive consistency across all segment to ensure materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintain acceptable inventory levels.
  • Support measurable improvement in parts shortage due to poor production and materials planning, inventory errors and damage within the facilities.
  • Sharply reduce excess raw material inventory and work in process inventory by leading lean events and continuous improvement activity focused on establishment of baseline inventory requirements, identification of wastes and implementation of sustainable process improvements.
  • Implement and support cost reduction initiatives that support and advance the material flow strategy to improve financial performance across the enterprise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) or more years of experience within in Supply Chain, Materials, or a related field.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading others – directly or through project work.
  • Relevant industry related certifications.
  • Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience mentoring and leading team members through direct reporting relationships or project work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Pay Range:

$102,800.00 - $176,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
